I'm amused at relating to how a turn in the weather can prompt quicker action on certain projects. Does that make sense?
While I hate to see live trees cut down, I'm sure it will improve your situation and view. Plus, now you can use the wood (once it dries).
Yeah, I like O'Sickey's style and colors, too. No wonder you're inspired. Go for it!
Thanks for the tour and the memories. I recall, too, the overwhelming exhilaration of driving south on highway 128 (from I-70) along the Colorado River east of Arches for the first time. I was blown away! (10 yrs ago) Then last year, I spent a week in the same area working on the Negro Bill Trail for BLM. I never had the chance to return to Arches. I wonder how many more opportunities I'll have left.
I wanted to take the 17 mile loop, but the area had rain, and warnings were out for slick roads. Maybe next time. I did a Wilderness Volunteer backpack work trip in nearby Grand Gulch.
Rather shocking. I'm glad somebody out there sees the light. Since I have voted, I'm into becoming "comatose" for two weeks.
This answered my previous "firewood question". Good source--right in you yard! My daughter just had her second child born at home, in a tub of water, with a midwife attending. Easy as pie, and very rewarding. And cheap. You'll be alright. Try some meditation between now and the birth.
It's a messy "hobby", but I admire your patience and envy the talent. Buddha? Aren't you guys Mormons?
All we can do is vote for our man (which I did yest.). Congrats on your painting being used. Sounds like a good cause.
Nothing like vicarious living--wish I was there. By the way, I've hiked to Devil's Garden (back in '02). I'm ready to return.
And bumper stickers are so difficult to remove!
Neck warmer?
I'm glad I'm a man. However, as a father of 3 girls--all married now--I feel your pain, financially speaking!
Fingers crossed. My grandpa house smell is horrible! Stinky "septic gas" odor, and I can't get rid of it. I may have to start smoking my pipe again--that was MY grandfather's smell.
Cupcakes taken to school is still permitted? In this day and age, with peanut allergies, I'm surprised.
