This is a Rant! I've Had it with Conservatives

Just what I have read today:
"Liberals Support Crime, Not Punishment: "

I
categorically resent being categorized as "supporting crime" just
because I am a liberal.   I think I can speak for the rest of liberals
in saying they would too.

"The New Duranty Times devoted nearly an entire Sunday op-ed page to
l'affaire Henri-Louis Gates and Barack Hussein Soetoro's reprehensible
grandstanding:
"

 I
was listening to that press conference when President Barak Obama--not
Soetoro--he was never adopted by Saetoro--was asked point blank if he
thought the white police officer who arrested Henri-Louis Gates inside
his own home was engaging in racial profiling.

The President gave as honest an answer as he could.  He prefaced his
remarks by stating that Professor Gates was a friend of his, so he
might be inclined to be a bit prejudiced.  He then stated that he
really did not know the particulars of the case, so he couldn't say

He continued by stating that he was sure words were exchanged.  He
concluded  with the remark that the facts do support more blacks than
whites being arrested.  That is ALL he said.

Grandstanding??? I didn't see any evidence of it!  I would not have apologized for anything if I had been the President.
"Of course the libs support crime...their party is crawling with criminals.  the party of no personal responsibility.."

Again,
a broad all-encompassing statement that has absolutely no facts  to
support it.  I have tons of liberal friends and many conservative
friends--all of whom are law-abiding citizens and who take
responsibility for their actions as well as those of their community.
Not a SINGLE ONE "supports crime."

Just when businesses need a break, Democrats jammed through a bill that raises the federal minimum wage to $7.25 an hour.

The Democrats didn't "jam through" anything.  According to Business Week, The raise is the third and final increase as mandated by the Fair
Minimum Wage Act of 2007. (I believe, if memory serves me, that we had a REPUBLICAN congress in 2007).

An amendment to the Fair Labor Standards Act
first hiked the federal minimum wage to $5.85 per hour from $5.15 in
July 2007, and the following July it climbed to $6.55. Adjusted for
inflation, the $7.25-per-hour wage is 25% less than it was in the late
1960s.

It will put an extra $120 per month in the pockets of the more than 2
million janitors, cafeteria workers, and child-care providers, among
others, who rely on incomes of less than $15,000 annually.

Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis said in a July 16 news release. "I am especially pleased that the change will benefit working women, who make up two-thirds of minimum-wage earners."
So much for today's Republican stories on Blogster.  Let's talk a little bit about health care and their concept of it:
1. Medicare and Medicaid are NOT the same thing.

One conservative blogger claimed that when she identified Medicaid as
the plan for Seniors.  Medicaid is welfare, plain and simple.  Anyone,
regardless of wealth can enroll in Medicare if he qualifies either due
to age or physical infirmity and has paid into social security.

2. Obama's plan will lead to "managed care".

We have managed care now--whether we are on Medicare or a Major
Medical. Both require a prior authorization before they will pay for
hospitalization.  Both have a schedule that dictates how long one may
stay in the hospital for any given condition.  That is WHAT managed
care is!!

3.  Obama's plan is like Canada's in that it is is "one payer" system.

NO!
NO! NO!  Obama's plan and the one passed by the House of
Representatives is NOT socialized medicine.  It is simply a major
medical plan like those of private insurers with lower premiums for
individuals and small businesses who cannot qualify for the high rates
and restrictions private insurers place on pre-existing conditions.

4.  People will be forced to enroll in Obama's plan:

NO! NO! NO!  People can keep their current coverage if they are satisfied with it.
I
could go on and on, but you get the picture.  I have no problem with
people objecting to the health care reform so long as they present
good, solid objections.

I
would suggest that they read it before making broad, general statements
that are absolutely incorrect.  The same is true regarding other
criticisms of the Democratic Party.  Get the facts first; then decide
if there is a legitimate reason to criticize.

Trying
to use constant criticism of Obama and the Democratic Party is going to
do nothing but backfire in the Republicans' face.  Educated, informed
individuals see right through the political posturing.
