- Excellent poem! You have summed up January perfectly
I am so glad I read this Ana, my husband went fishing today with our son-in-law. Both myself and my daughter had a 'lie - in' (we found this out during a phone conversation, this afternoon). I felt a 'little' (not toooo much lol) guilty about my laziness - my conscious feels clear now I will try to find the origins of this 'sleep day' and if I am successful I will leave you a comment . Thanx for this Ana
YaY Positive Thinking - the best thing to begin doing whatever, time of year it happens to be - whatever you think about, you bring, about - so let all your thoughts be 'positive' ones!
Good post Fredo, some very good advice in there

Very funny!
Your style of painting so much reminds me of the 'Scottish colourists' - wonderful painting Jon
I have always thought of this period as a time to 'ground' ones self, after the constant 'high' of Yule.
Your daughter-in-laws birthday will be lasting a little longer now
I know this as a 'stinging nettle', very common in the uk (we even get different 'types', they are so blinking common)!! I think it was Lynniessoufflette who fell into a bush of them, when she was a little girl ()!! Archaeologist's are able to see a bunch of nettles and know that there were inhabitants at that particular area, because they only grow where people once lived. It is always best to clear the nettles, before they go to seed - they spead soooo easily.
To reach a compromise, why not try doing both? I know the government don't actually place VAT on 'food' (except 'pet foods'), but when you consider the 'fuel price' increase + the extra VAT on top of that, it is, going to increase the food costs anyway - the shops will rise their prices to cover their extra charges!!! This 'coalition government' stink! I do, wish you would be a little more vigilant in the 'knee' area - you are sooooo gonna come acropper one of these days! When do the children go back to school? It can't be that long can it? A week today, and sonny jim is 18 !!!!!!
This is the same sort of crossing system, we have here in the UK. Either side of the 'Zebra Crossing' (as we call them) there is a 'Belleesha Beacon' which is an orange 'continuous' flashing light, that warns drivers to 'slow down' because the are 'approaching' a crossing. In the photo you have on here, I noticed that there is a truck which looks as though it is 'parked' on the crossing - 'here', the police would give you a 'ticket' and possibly 'points' on your driving licence, as it is an offence, to block a 'crossing'. They are a very, handy way to cross a main road and they do reduce the ammount of speeding drivers! People will appreciate these, I think
Happy New Year Janet
If it was a 'blur' - it was a good evening I had to read your instructions on playing 'Beer Pong' three times - I thought you batted the half filled cups of beer (It is not the way you described it, it is because I am thick) Happy New Year to the two of you
