Today's Chapters: Psalms 95-102
Message Title: Judgment Is Coming
One day all nations will bow to Christ, those who reject Him now are in for a rude awakening. Believe it or not, Jesus is coming, sooner than we think, and He is not asking for anyone's approval, judgment is coming. “Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God. Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee. He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.†- Revelation 3:2,3,5.
Even those of Old Testament days knew that the Lord will come to judge the earth. Anyone can escape this judgment, salvation is made available to everyone that believes in and receives Christ as their Savior, the poor, rich, healthy, crippled, happy, sad, black, white, the Jew, and Gentile (anyone not a Jew). God gives all a chance to know His Son and be saved. “The LORD hath made known his salvation: his righteousness hath he openly shewed in the sight of the heathen. He hath remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel: all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God. Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise. Before the LORD; for he cometh to judge the earth: with righteousness shall he judge the world, and the people with equity.†- Psalm 98:2-4,9.
Just because Jesus is not here yet that does not mean that God is not judging the nations right now. Saved or not, we all face some of the judgment of nation upon nation rejecting Jesus. Right now, these are warnings to get people to know of Christ. When we stop to think of just how much our Lord, Jesus Christ has done for us, in us, and through us, one cannot help, but praise, worship, sing, and serve Him faithfully. No matter what we are must endure, we need to thank God and praise Him through it all. “Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.†- Psalm 100.
Do you feel like you have done something so bad that God will never forgive you? Stop thinking like that! Let it go, He loves you and has just as much mercy on you as He does everyone else. Tell God how you feel inside, let Him know that You truly are sorry for what you have done. This prayer is particularly geared toward those seeking repentance of sin. “Hear my prayer, O LORD, and let my cry come unto thee. Hide not thy face from me in the day when I am in trouble; incline thine ear unto me: in the day when I call answer me speedily. For my days are consumed like smoke, and my bones are burned as an hearth. My heart is smitten, and withered like grass; so that I forget to eat my bread. By reason of the voice of my groaning my bones cleave to my skin. He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their prayer. This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the LORD. For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven did the LORD behold the earth; To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death;†- Psalm 102:1-5,17-20.
God hears you, He knows your heart, your pain, and your guilt. He is right there listening, watching, and waiting for you to call on Him. We all mess up, we all get punished, but when we repent, we reconcile with God and all is forgotten. You see, we are the ones who keep God from forgetting the past, when we ask Him to forgive us the sin is forgotten, never to be remembered, but when we keep seeking forgiveness for something He has already forgotten we sin by doubting His mercy toward us. Instead of dwelling on the past, let it go, yes, there are going to be some things that will remind you of what you have done, rejoice that Christ has redeemed you. “Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.†- Philippians 4:4-7.
We will never know the day when Jesus will return, and for that reason it is crucial that we not only show Christ in us, we must also introduce Him to those who do not know Him. It's our duty, and if we do not witness to those who do not know Him, we will be accountable. Not everyone will receive Christ, but we must, at least give them the same opportunity as we got, after all, we are all sinners, while some sins are more abominable than others, it all comes with the same consequences.
“Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.†- Romans 6:3-6,22,23. Praise God!
Today's Prayer: (from Psalm 101) God, I will sing of mercy and judgment: unto thee, O LORD, will I sing. I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart. I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me. A froward heart shall depart from me: I will not know a wicked person. In Jesus' name. Amen.
God Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina
